About
Why I Started Thorn Street
I've wanted to build a geospatial company since college. When I left defense, it wasn't because of the work. It was because I'd stopped growing. Comfort felt like stagnation. I needed to push into something uncomfortable.
So I bet on something I believe in: spatial data is undervalued, and the tools we have now are just the beginning. This sector is going to transform how businesses operate. I want to be building when that happens.
Thorn Street is how I push spatial science forward. We can extract so much more from the world if we understand it better. Spatial thinking is the lens that makes that possible.

Software Engineer Who Speaks GIS
My background combines software engineering with geospatial systems. I understand coordinate reference systems, geospatial indices, topology rules, and databases. But I also know how to build production web applications, design data pipelines, and write maintainable code.
This combination is rare. Most developers don't understand geospatial data. Most GIS analysts aren't software engineers. I bridge that gap, which means I can build technical solutions that actually work with your geospatial workflows.
